Troubleshoot Lightroom Smart Preview Catalogs

Lightroom Smart Previews are crucial for how I operate as a private photo editor! Lightroom Smart Previews are a great way to be able to view and edit your photos without having the original files with you. They are also a great way to work on your photos on a laptop or other portable device. This is how private photo editors are able to edit a large wedding with thousands of photos remotely and not have to worry about data! However, sometimes things can go wrong with your Smart Preview Catalog, and you will need to troubleshoot Lightroom Smart Preview Catalogs if you can’t view or edit your photos.

In this blog post, we will discuss some common Smart Preview Catalog problems you may come across when working with a private photo editor and how to troubleshoot Smart Preview Catalogs. We will also provide some tips for preventing these problems from happening in the first place.

  • Missing Smart Previews: This can happen if you move or delete the original files, or if your Smart Preview Catalog becomes corrupted.
  • Unlinked Smart Previews: This can happen if you move or rename the original files, or if your Smart Preview Catalog becomes corrupted.

These are all problems that you’ll have to troubleshoot Lightroom smart preview catalogs.
