Future Farmers of America brought them together as they showed animals every summer, making their faces more and more familiar. They finally got to talking and one summer lead to another with years of dating, creating memories and looking at each other with sparkles in their eyes. The sparkles lead to their rustic barn wedding in 2015. Still with as much sparkle in their eyes – if not more – they arrive here to their two year anniversary! Keeping with the woodsy landscape they love so much, we traveled to Sequoia National Park for their two year wedding anniversary photo session.
Kristen wore a beautiful floral haltered maxi dress (she always finds the cutest dresses!) and Devin stuck to his favorite staple: his cowboy boots. Little direction was necessary to give them as they looked up at the giant sequoias and and walked through the park (okay, I might have suggested them to stop and dance a little bit). Like I wasn’t even there, they joked, tickled and smiled at each other like the first time they met.
I love that Kristen and Devin have been doing anniversary photos since they got married. Although it seems like they “have enough photos” due to their engagement and wedding photos, there is so much more that continues to happen in the first years of marriage. Kristen and Devin not only have these great photos every year, but they get to compare each year to the next – reminiscing over events that occurred that specific year. They get to see each other grow before their very own eyes… “to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death. This is my solemn vow.”
